Object of Insurance

ACORD GRUP SA covers individuals or legal entities owning vehicles registered in the Republic of Moldova for cases of civil liability towards third parties injured in vehicle accidents occurring in the territories of member states of the Green Card international system.

Insured Risks

ACORD GRUP provides compensation for damages caused by vehicle accidents within the territorial limits of coverage, in accordance with the legislation in force in the country where the accident occurred.

Compensation is provided for:

Material damages;
Legal expenses incurred by the injured party;
Bodily injury or death, including non-material damages.

Territorial Scope of Insurance

The insurance is valid only within the territories of the member states of the Green Card international system, whose unmarked initials are found in the Green Card insurance document.

Period of Coverage

The insurance can be concluded for periods ranging from 15 days to 12 months.

The liability of ACORD GRUP SA begins when the vehicle leaves the territory of the Republic of Moldova and ends when it re-enters the territory of the Republic of Moldova, provided this period falls within the dates specified in the Green Card insurance policy.

Conclusion of Insurance

The insurance is considered concluded upon the issuance of the Green Card insurance policy and the collection of the insurance premium.

Insurer’s Liability

In case of damages caused by vehicle accidents, compensation is granted in accordance with the legislation in force in the country where the vehicle accident occurred and up to the maximum level of compensation provided by the respective legislation.

In the event of an accident, the Insured is obliged:

to take all measures to minimize or avoid further damage;

to immediately notify the law enforcement bodies (police, fire brigade, etc.) closest to the scene of the accident, requesting the drawing up of a report on the causes and circumstances of the accident;

immediately notify the appropriate National Insurance Bureau, as indicated on the back of the Green Card insurance policy;

to notify ACORD GRUP GRUP SA in writing of the occurrence of the accident, giving information about the causes and circumstances of the accident, the nature of the damage caused to third parties and an estimate of the amount of the damage, within 5 days of the date of the accident;

to make available to ACORD GRUP GRUP SA, upon arrival in the country, the declaration of the Insured, as well as any other documents held in connection with the accident.
